Moment
Moment was one of the pioneering screen time tracking apps for smartphones, developed before iOS and Android offered built-in screen time features. At its introduction, tracking phone usage required workarounds, such as deducing usage from iPhone battery statistics or using apps like Moment in creative ways.
Moment emerged at a time when several years ago, screen time tracking required unusual workarounds. The app helped users understand their device usage patterns and served as an early signal of the growing concern around phone addiction and excessive screen time.
Moment's original screen time tracking utility has largely been superseded by native built-in solutions: Apple's Screen Time on iOS and Google's Digital Wellness on Android. These built-in alternatives now provide similar functionality without requiring third-party apps or workarounds.
Historically offered both free and premium tiers.
