Overview
Voice-activated time tracking enables professionals to log work hours and manage timers using voice commands through smart speakers and virtual assistants. This hands-free approach removes friction from time tracking, making it accessible when hands are occupied with tools, equipment, driving, or other tasks that prevent device interaction.
Supported Voice Assistants
Amazon Alexa
Integrations like eBillity Time Tracker skill work with all Amazon Alexa devices: Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Tap, and Echo Show. Users can start timers, pause timers, and create time entries with simple voice commands.
Google Assistant
By linking time tracking accounts to Google Assistant, users can manage timers across Android devices, Google Home speakers, and other Google Assistant-enabled devices with commands like "Start a new timer" or "Create a new time entry for 8 hours."
Siri
Integrations with Siri allow iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and HomePod users to control time tracking through Apple's voice assistant, often using Shortcuts for custom commands.
Common Voice Commands
- "Start a timer for [project name]"
- "Stop my current timer"
- "Pause all my timers"
- "Create a time entry for 3 hours and 30 minutes"
- "Check the status of my timers"
- "How long have I been working?"
